Vick defense?

Today was the first day that Whoopi Goldberg was seated as the new moderator of "The View." Replacing controversial Rosie O'Donnell.

Goldberg said in defense of Michael Vick, that "from where he comes from" (Newport News, Va.) in the South, dogfighting isn't that unusual. "It's like cockfighting in Puerto Rico," she said. "There are certain things that are indicative to certain parts of the country."

*I understand what Ms Goldberg is saying. But Mr Vick is not just right out of the South. And I believe Newport News does have television. It's not like he has been buried in a cave, and what about his agent? Did he not advise Vick about the problems of being involved in dog fighting?

Will that be the excuse for the 3 boys that tortured and killed the puppy in Texas?
