Will it last?

As we all sit and wait for the update on the coal miners trapped in Utah, the search/recovery of persons involved with the Minneapolis bridge collapse. It came to my attention that the bridge next to the I-35w is of similar design and built in the late 1920's, it is still standing.

My question, What is wrong with how we build things today, that they don't last?

How many giant stadiums are built and torn down after 20 years? Bridges that are new and need critical maintenance? (I have seen this in my hometown) Are the materials inferior to what they were? Is the labor different? Just what is the reason?

New Orleans is trying to rebuild. Levies in other countries are built with more modern technology, why not in NOLA? What is it will all the killings? 100, "criminals killing criminals" is the answer from the police chief.

I just had problems with my 30+ refridge, repaired. Could I say that about one that is a couple of years old. I new cell phone (in Dec. my old one "died" after 5 yrs of faithful service.) replaced for signal dropping last month. The new one does the same thing.

I really miss QUALITY in products. But I think that went with PRIDE IN WORKMANSHIP and INTEGRITY!

P.S.-No Republican candidates agreed to participate in a forum sponsored by LOGO and the Human Rights Campaign. Democratic candidates will be there except Sen. Joseph Biden and Sen. Chris Dodd who say they have scheduling conflicts.

We are that afraid of Civil Unions! If it has to do with unions, must be a Reagan thing!
