View of the USA

The picture is titled 'Reflections at Coyote Hills'. I'd like to reflect on a few things. Erosion is causing the dis-coloration on the lower left.

Global Warming is changing life in every country of the world. Animals are dying. Lakes are drying up. Oxygen content of the atmosphere is less, opening the door for diseases to flourish.
We sit and debate how much it will cost to reverse the situation.

Remember clear blue sky. Rain in April. Frying an egg on the sidewalk in July/August.
Leaves falling and a chill in the air in September. Looking forward to wearing that new sweater you just bought. Laughter at Halloween, friends and fun at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Being able to see the constellations in the backyard, and being able to name them.

Remember Congress actually showing results. Food you weren't afraid to eat. Water from the tap that isn't in an expensive bottle. Talking to a stranger, without fear. Children that were kids getting dirty, not little people trying to be adult. Sunday closings, people had to find something to do other than shop.

Remember 7-up when it had "fizz" to it. Closed campus at schools. No high fructose corn syrup in everything. Snacks were in the daytime. TV had something interesting to watch. The news was just that. Coolers at the gas station had cold water in them, drinks seemed colder, no pollution.

Remember private phone conversations. Talking face to face. Hand written letters instead of texting/emails. Honor and ethics above profit. Leadership that meant being a Leader.

I miss these things. I don't know if that "dates" me but were they all that bad?
